A Stitch and A Smile: Crocheted Stool Cozy

Today, I completed a stool cozy. I will soon be creating a matching stool cozy for our other very hard wooden bar stool. They help a ton. My good friend J says they make the stools 82.6% more comfortable. I'd say that's a success. Photos and perhaps my first whack at a crochet pattern coming soon!

Dumbo

I finally got a DVD of Dumbo that will play! Story Time!!  I bought the DVD as soon as it came out of the vault a month or so ago only to find that it would not play...this of course was very disconcerting to someone who has used up 2 VHS versions of this movie in just the last 6 years or so and who hasn't seen this beloved movie in far too long. I took it back and traded it for a new one...which also ended up not working. I took this one back and proceeded to go to a different store to find a DVD that worked...once again, I got home only to find that it did not work. At this point in the story, I was distraught and feared that somehow every copy of the DVD on sale would not work so I gave up...

Fast forward to yesterday...

I was looking at the less-than-$20 DVDs at Walmart to find that Dumbo was there at $15 where at first it had been $25. I decided I'd try one more time, especially since this was a different store than the first two stores I'd tried. Turns out, it works!! I'm ecstatic.

Also, I believe Dumbo so appeals to me because there is not a specific violent villain present. No one person/animal/thing to pin all the blame on for the woes in the story. More on that later!
